Lady Luck Comes From Lady Laxmi (Luckshmi)

The western idea of Lady Luck comes from Lady Laxmi, which is pronounced just like “Luckshmi”.  Her Roman name was “Fortuna”, as she was the Goddess of luck and fortune. The readers of this site are already perhaps familiar with the astrological origins of many phrases and words in modern culture. See this previous post on Astrology and etymology for more.

This is an addendum to that, with respect to the fascinating “Lady Luck” icon of western culture, and how she is essentially another incarnation of the Lady Laxmi of Vedic culture, the deity of Venus.  If you enjoy this vid, give it a like and subscribe 🙂
